Furnas by Night: Hot Springs Under the Stars in São Miguel

On this exclusive evening tour, we take you to the enchanting village of Furnas, which is one of the most active geothermal areas in the Azores. At night is when the caldeiras come alive the most, and the atmosphere shifts completely. The bubbling caldeiras glow softly alongside the quieter streets, and the hot springs turn into the perfect escape for winding down.

On our first stop, we embark on a scenic drive across São Miguel with its lush landscapes while enjoying the sunset from the viewpoints we stop at. Afterward, the region’s geothermal wonders come into view as we “Cozido” (Volcanic stew) grounds, steaming fumaroles, and boiling springs.

And now it’s time to unwind. Pick one of the two unforgettable thermal bath locations: Poça da Dona Beija – Five open air iron-rich pools (38-40°c) surrounded by tropical vegetation. At night the atmosphere feels like you are in a natural jungle spa.
